Kaya Natin! Movement strongly condemns the baseless electoral protest of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his subsequent motion to inhibit Associate Justice Marvic Leonen from the Presidential
Electoral Tribunal (PET).
The legal proceedings of this protracted electoral protest has only proved time again that Marcos is indeed a defeated vice presidential candidate in the 2016 elections and his protest must be
dismissed altogether. The election results are clear: Vice President Leni Robredo has the mandate of the people.
At a time of a global epidemic and calamities that continue to impact the lives of many Filipinos, power grabbing and political opportunism should have no place in our country.
We call on the Marcoses to stop their desperate attempts to rewrite history. If there is any ounce of genuine interest to forward the welfare of Filipinos left in them, it is high time they put a
stop to the lies they propagate and atone for the atrocities they committed against us.
We appeal to the Supreme Court to respect the Filipino people by upholding VP Leni Robredo’s victory, and dismiss Marcos’ call to remove Justice Leonen from the deliberations over his ungrounded
electoral protest.
Finally, we call on all Filipinos to remain vigilant against attempts at subverting the will of the people. Our fight for truth and justice continues.
