September 21, 2016 – Kaya Natin Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership celebrated International Day of Peace through participating in a solidarity event organized by Philippine Miserior Partnership, Inc. in Plaza Miranda, centered on the theme: “Buhay na May Dignidad Para sa Lahat” (Life with Dignity for All People).
About one thousand five hundred people from different religious groups and non-government organizations gathered and participated in the Justice March from Bustillos Church to Plaza Miranda.
A mass was held after, led by Rev. Nonong Navarro followed by cultural presentations. In between these presentations were prayer readings and speeches about fighting for peace and justice from representatives of different organizations present. A prayer vigil and candle lighting was then initiated to remember those we lost to human rights violations 44 years ago in Martial Law; and to pray for peace and freedom.
